An escrow arrangement is complete only after successful verification of the materials in the secure depository. We call that verification Technical Verification Service (TVS). We perform verification at four levels (TVS Levels).
You can request or further extend verification at any time. We recommend a comprehensive verification (level 3 or 4) at least once a year, so that you can always be sure that the materials actually meet the (changing) continuity goals.
We perform verifications at the desired level. Escrow Alliance has four levels (levels) of verifications.
We perform the basic TVS Level 1 verification by default on every filing. With this we check whether the materials taken into deposit are usable. Think of that as hull insurance. This can also be done in conjunction with an audit: TVS Level 2.
Want more security, similar to all-risk insurance? Then go for comprehensive TVS Level 3 or TVS Level 4 verification.
This is basic verification at the depot, including checking the integrity of the materials. It provides assurance that the material deposited is, among other things, virus-free, accessible and of the expected type.
This is basic verification where we also perform an audit on the materials, such as spot checks (sampling) and verification of definitions in the escrow agreement. During the materials audit, we determine whether specific materials such as libraries or files are present.
With a complete verification, we demonstrate that the material deposited meets the stated continuity purposes of the escrow arrangement. It is similar to a fire drill. The consultant simulates the same steps we take when issuing the deposit.
Each escrow arrangement has its own specifications. You can find these specifications in the escrow arrangements for source code, software, SaaS and technology.
We can perform the TVS level 3 at a software vendor location or at Escrow Alliance’s software lab.
We completely customize the verification for you if you:
